EDITORIAL, Nov 23 (VNN) I am amazed at some of the stuff I read that makes visible the consciousness of these persons some who are, sadly, in positions of leadership. Don't they know that every time they chant 'Hare" they are appealing to the causeless mercy of 1/2 of the Supreme Personality of Godhead; Srimati Radharani; the source and cause of all women and everything else? She appears sometimes together with Her other half; Sri Govinda Deva and sometimes apart. "Sri Krsna Chaitanya Radha-Krsna nahi anya". Devotee women are not ordinary women.
On a walk in 1972-73, some of Srila Prabhupada's brahmacaris and sannyasis were complaining about women and the close association they had to endure with them while preaching, while in the temple. Srila Prabhupada listened patiently and gravely without saying anything.
The morning walk entourage returned to the temple. The doorbell was rung and the door was opened by Prabhupada's female disciples who were busy cooking, cleaning, bathing and dressing Sri Sri Radha and Krsna, preparing the morning prasadam. They were overjoyed to see Srila Prabhupada and offered obeisances and shouted:
"Jai Srila Prabhupada! " He smiled broadly, turned around and said: "Yes... but if you associate with these women, ...you will go back to Godhead!"
Let's be careful in our criticisms of each other and our desire to categorize or"pigeonhole" others for the convenience of our material minds and false egos. Let's remember the sacred instructions of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who tells us to keepthis verse of His always in our minds:
"Trinad api sunicena taror api sahisnuna, amanina manadena, Kirtanya sada Hari" Let's all do more Hari-Nam Sankirtan in public and get back in the program!
