Bhagavat Saptah Completed

The Bhagavat Saptah held at Prem Puri Ashram last week ended with a good response, thanks to H. G. Sri Nathji Prabhu and Maithili Priya mataji. The Saptah was held from Thursday, the 25th July to Sunday, the 5th July with more than 500 people taking advantage of this programme. On the last day, the crowd swelled upto over 700 people. H. G. Gauranga Prabhu spoke at great lengths every day and held the audience spell bound by his wonderful description of the various pastimes from the pages of Srimad Bhagavatam.

News From The Library

The devotees can now purchase the whole set of 18 cassettes of the recently concluded Bhagavat Saptah (in Hindi) held at Prem Puri ashram at a discount rate. The whole set will cost the congregation members for Rs. 1080/- instead of Rs.1350/- Interested members may contact H. G. Radha Gopal Prabhu at the library counter or meet H. G. Saci Kumar Prabhu.

Moral Education Classes

As per the directive of the state government all schools are supposed to hold compulsory classes on moral education. Radha Gopinath Mandir has therefore started a School Program Department headed by H.G.Shikshastakam Prabhu. We plan to hold regular classes on moral education, consisting of Vedic story-telling, skits, songs etc. On Friday, the 10th July, H. G. Radha Gopinath Prabhu conducted the first program for the students of BKM High School, Babulnath. Around 120 students from the eighth, ninth and tenth standard along with ten teachers attended the programme. Immediately after this program there was an invitation to visit another school in the locality. BTG News BTG is now entering into the field of Telemarketing. Also Gujarathi BTG will be launched in the near future. We need as many of subscriptions for the same.

Appeal

During the Krishna Janamashtami, there will various exhibits for preaching at the stalls for the benefits of the hundreds of visitors throughout the day. For such exhibits, we need some help. We need the help of congregation members who knows to make small human models from Plaster of Paris. These models will be used for exhibition purposes. Kindly contact H. G. Madan Gopal Prabhu in the temple.

Six Day Bhagavad Gita Course

A six day Bhagavad Gita Course will be held from 17th July to 22nd July in the evening. Venue : Air India School, Air India Colony, Kalina, Santacruz. Time : 7.00 pm. H. G. Shankarananda Prabhu will be conducting the course in English. Those interested in registering for the course may kindly contact H. G. Shankarananda Prabhu or H. G. Sankirtan Prabhu in the temple. Whatever our particular status or situation may be, we should not be deluded by maya to think that anything but the shelter of Krishna's lotus feet will give me any real meaning or happiness in life. This must be the principle we live by. Srila Prabhupada was asked, "How do I know who is your devotee?" Srila Prabhupada said, "You will know who is my devotee because they are perfect gentlemen." How is that? When you are living for the purpose of service, when you are purifying your heart and seeking the fulfilment of chanting Krishna's holy name, hearing Krishna's glories, then naturally you become honest, free of greed. Even if those things are there in your heart, you, somehow or other subdue them in the association of devotees and good sadhana. There are two principles that we must be convinced of. 1) This material life is miserable. It is a place of death and that the happiness of life is being created by the Lord only to increase your suffering. You should identify it as such. The more you are happy in material world, the more you become attached to that happiness. To the degree we find happiness in this material world, to that degree we suffer when everything changes. So, the happiness is only to serve the purpose of making you suffer more. That is reality. So we must be convinced that this is not our real home. We take material resources and use it in Krishna's service. If we try to use it for our own selfish enjoyment, we will suffer. 2) The next thing we must understand is - what is real happiness? Real happiness is in serving Krishna, in loving Krishna. This is inner happiness, transcendental to all changes of the material world. Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Lord Nityananda Prabhu have descended into this world to give this happiness to everyone. The shelter of the lotus feet of Krishna is attainable by all of us through the chanting of holy names of Krishna. Srila Prabhupada has so mercifully delivered this message. Chant Hare Krishna and be Happy. If we believe this statement, we will go back home Back to Godhead. - His Holiness Radhanath Maharaj.
