Krishnasofts's Gita CD Update

Around 200 Gita CDs have been sold. After the BBT meetings last year, there was vagueness in the decision and some restrictions which prevented Krishnasoft from distributing the 500 CDs. Now after the 1998 BBT meetings, Jayadvaita Swami, the BBT chairperson has sent the following email to Krishnasoft:

Dear Harirama and Virender,

Please accept my best wishes. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

This year I have better news for you. The BBT trustees have passed the
following resolution:

"The BBT grants permission for Krishnasoft Inc. (Hari Rama Dasa and Virender Dayal) to distribute the copies remaining of the 500 they printed of their Bhagavad-gita CD-ROM. The BBT wil also grant Krishnasoft Inc. the permission to use 50 BBT pictures, some audio, and some references from Krishna Book and Srimad-Bhagavatam Canto 5 for use in one Krsna conscious game. Madhava Puri Dasa from BBT International will work out the particulars of the license with Krishnasoft Inc. Jayadvaita Swami will communicate these decisions to Krishnasoft Inc."

VNN has also received the following statement from BBTI:

The BBT International has granted permission for distribution of the CD-ROM of "Bhagavad-gita As It Is" produced by the devotees at Krishnasoft, Inc. The 500 copies printed so far may thus be distributed without restriction. Contrary to VNN reports, the BBT trustees have informed Krishnasoft that once those are sold the BBTI will be quite open to a request to print more.

The BBTI has also granted permission for Krishnasoft's next project, a Krsna conscious game, on CD-ROM, making extensive use of BBT art, audio clips, and quotations from Srila Prabhupada's books.

Also contrary to VNN reports, a CD-ROM version of "Bhagavad-gita As It Is" is indeed in progress at the BBT. Nitya-Trpta Devi Dasi and Krsna Prema Dasa are working on the project. If all goes on schedule, their CD-ROM version of Srila Prabhupada's Gita should be available in about six months. It promises to be superlative.
