Grawemeyer Award Nomination
USA (VNN) - One of only thirty three titles that were nominated world
wide, Aesthetic Vedanta explores the rationale and scriptural
basis for a religious experience of God and soul in intimacy,
beyond awe and reverence.
The Grawemeyer award is perhaps the most prestigious religious
award, offering the highest monetary prize for religious writing
($150,000). The Award is given annually to honor and publicize
insights into the relationship between human beings and the divine
and the ways this relationship may empower human beings to attain
wholeness, integrity or meaning.
Nominators must be leaders of Religious organizations, scholars,
presidents of universities or schools of religion, or publishers
and editors of scholarly journals. Self-nomination is not allowed.
Aesthetic Vedanta was nominated by Steven Rosen, editor of the
Oxford Journal of Vaisnava Studies.
