VNN Web Site Gets 1 Million Hits

USA (VNN) - In its short existence of just 9 months the VNN has received over one million hits (1,001,712 as of 5/21/98) on its web site at VNN.ORG from over 70 countries worldwide. Founded by an international group of Vaishnavas in 1997 and launched on Janmastami '97, VNN has been the center of controversy, criticized by some and praised by others.

With its 53 registered correspondents, over 100 independent contributors submitting articles daily and 450 news stories published to date, VNN has become the preferred source of news and information for Vaishnavas around the world, making it the most frequented Vaishnava web site today.

VNN will continue in its commitment to open and fair reporting of news and issues that touch the Vaishnava community with a promise of more services to readers and new features on VNN soon to come.

Here are some comments from VNN readers:

"Your are one of my first sites I go to on a daily basis, fair and balanced. Keep it up." 5/19/98

"Wonderful site, prabhus! It is my favorite. Very Professionally done." 4/11/98

"I visit VNN every day. I recommend it to others, both personally and thru Links. You are such good devotees, giving so much service, it truly humbles me." 3/27/98

"I just wanted to compliment you on a first class (If not the most first class) Vaisnava news site & forum I have come across. It's really nice, not to mention extremely important to have an unbiased forum for the devotees to voice their opinions, gripes, feelings and ideas and to be able to have an alternative news source besides the "Bonafide" & "Approved" sources that are instituted within Iskcon."

"First of all, let me thank you for this wonderful forum which you have provided so that sincere Vaishnavas may engage in healthy dialogue and open up lines of communication. VNN is a remarkably innovative web-site and I applaud you for your time and energy in making this valuable news-source available to all of us."

"Thanks for all your good service to the society of devotees and mankind. Revealing the truth may not be a palatable task, but it's certainly needed if we want to help Mahaprabhu's prediction come true even in this lifetime."

"Since I've been reading your site and recommending it to others for the last several months, I guess it's about time to write so you'll know that you are greatly appreciated. Remember, you must be doing something right to invoke the wrath of those who are so much more advanced than us humble prabhus. You should feel flattered that a copykat news site has suddenly emerged to prove that there really is more news to go around than we were led to believe. All in all I have found your site to be as impartial as it can. You have given all Vaishnava news a spot, not just this camp or that side or that Math. In this age of bs, it's nice to see someone make the effort to give us a Free News Forum. Perhaps in the future i will be able to contribute some News of worth."

News Content: Excellent
New section: A debating section-please
Best Section: Your apparent unbiased reporting
Comment: Please continue with this very important service, Thank you

"Keep it up! Don't ever go down! Freedom of speech is non-existant in ISKCON. Your forum is so important! You are a God send! Don't get too negative. Stick to facts not faults."

"Whoever you are, your service is invaluable."

"First of all, my heartfelt congratulations to you for your VNN project which, in my opinion, distinguishes itself by its broad-mindedness and unbiased, uncensored reporting. I am sure, as the word goes around and more and more devotees get Internet connections, VNN will become increasingly important as "the" meeting point for Vaisnavas from all over the globe -- the first place to access after entering cyberspace, just as others check the latest news on CNN (if only VNN would load as fast as CNN does)."

"Keep up the good work!! Looking forward to getting involved. Hearing about your site inspired me to get this new computer. Which I'll use to glorify His Divine Grace."
