New York (VNN) - by Pratyatosa Dasa

Kapindra Swami's Hare Krishna Food Relief

Sriman Jayananda Prabhu, the lead singer and owner of a local band called "Both Worlds", has, with incredible competence and enthusiasm, sponsored and organized a benefit concert to raise funds for the expansion of Kapindra Swami's Hare Krishna Food Relief project. The concert, named "Hardcore Against Hunger", will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 29th at Tramps, 51 West 21st Street in Manhattan. Bands who have volunteered to play at this concert are: "Absolute Bloom", "Fahrenheit 451", "CIV", "Both Worlds", "Burn", "25 Ta Life", "Biohazard", "Roguish Armament", "Sub Zero", "Crown of Thornz", "Sick of it All", "Maximum Penalty", "Madball", "Shutdown", "V.O.D.", plus an ex-Cro-Mag jam ...with more to be announced. Plans are for the concert to be carried "live" over the Internet.

Srila Prabhupada said that "New York will be conquered by prasadam distribution." Please come and be part of it!

Kirtanananda Temple

While I was on a japa walk a couple of evenings ago, I stopped by the building which was purchased by disciples of Kirtanananda, who call themselves the "League of Devotees". It's a six story building at 25 1st Ave., in the same block as Prabhupada's original temple at 26 2nd Ave. They have three very nice, newly finished efficiency apartments available, only to devotees, for $1500 to $2000/mo. They say that they could easily get $3000/mo. by renting to karmis. The apartments are going to be ready for occupancy in about three weeks. If you have any questions, you can call them at (212)473-0370.
