PUBLICATION January 8, 2004 VNN8511  The Hare Krishna Contribution To Vegetarianism BY SATYARAJA DASA PUBLICATION, Jan 8 (VNN) — Background Info Needed for New Book on Prasadam ISKCON author Steven Rosen (Satyaraja Dasa) is writing a new book called "Holy Cow: The Hare Krishna Contribution to Vegetarianism and Animal Rights," to be published by Lantern Books, a middle-sized New York publisher in 2004. The book includes sections on cow protection, award-winning cookbooks, prasadam restaurants, Food For Life programs, "Thou Shalt Not Kill," and, of course, the significance of prasadam. Satyaraja is looking to document the history of ISKCON's contribution in this area. He has traced our Govinda's restaurants back to 1974, but he wonders if we had any successful restaurants prior to that.
