Letter from Narasimha Das

USA (VNN) - Letter from Narasimha Das 12/12/97:

Dear Rocana prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila
Prabhupada.

Thank you for your response to the official and offensive statement by the GBC on their so-called investigation. It’s interesting to note that they mention that upon their initial or preliminary investigation they are already convinced the allegations are totally false and malicious. It seems they are biased for the start by such statements. Or do they expect us to believe their make-show investigation has already been conclusive?

Also, prabhu, you should caution investigators and reporters to watch their terminology. We should all be very clear, philosophically, that no one can actually poison or kill a pure devotee like Srila Prabhupada.

All devotees should understand that it is better to be called offensive by the GBC and their followers rather risk offending Srila Prabhupada by ignoring this issue.

Here’s one lead I’m personally pursuing. One Indian devotee (a mataji) who is married to an American Prabhupada disciple, remembers her uncle warning her 11 years ago that he had heard Prabhupada was poisoned by his disciples. She was a new devotee then, just getting involved in ISKCON, so she ignored the man, thinking him offensive. She did not repeat his words until just the other day, when talking to my wife about the allegations. Her uncle is a retired professor from a big university in Calcuttta, and he knows several prominent Kavis or Ayur Veda. I called this mataji’s father in India, whom I know personally. He said he would contact his cousin-brother and get back to me soon. We may know something more this weekend.

Here at Prabhupada Village senior devotees are doing their own investigation. In this regard, my own preliminary investigation proves that Srila Prabhupada was concerned about someone trying to kill him. After repeatedly saying he doesn’t want the Kaviraja’s treatment, TKG keeps trying to insist upon it. Also, TKG tries very hard to convince Prabhupada he should not go on parikrama, even after Prabhupada said he thought it would cure him.

TKG: This seems like suicide, Srila Prabhupada. This program seems to some us...suicidal.

(Pause)

Srila Prabhupada: And this is also suicide. (apparently holding up his cup.)

TKG: Prabhupada said this is also suicide. (In backgroud) Now you have to choose your suicide, Prabhupada.

Prabhupada: Ravana will kill and Rama will kill. Better to be killed by Rama. This is Marichi. If he doesn’t go.... will be killed by Ravana. And if he goes, will be killed by Rama. Then it’s better.....(to be killed by Rama).

In my mind, Srila Prabhupada’s own words, both here and other places, indicates a plot by close disciples to poison him. We’ve also heard several whispers about poison without any help of audio enhancement. So, what is this nonsense GBC statement about no poison references? Even Ranjit prabhu, who is funded by the GBC, has confirmed hearing the word “poison” in several places.

Why no one is resigning? If they were innocent, wouldn’t they be at least ashamed of the allegations and suspicions of so many devotees. Wouldn’t they resign as GBC, at least?

My opinion is that until we can remove the entire GBC, it will be very difficult to put out the fire that threatens Srila Prabhupada’s movement.

Your servant, Narasimha Das
