UKRAINE, Aug 19 (VNN) — Historic Event! Srila Gurudeva's First Visit To Ukraine!
Dear devotees, please accept my humble obeisances.
This year Srila Gurudev's festival will take place in a suburb of Odessa town (Iliichovsk settlement ), in the sanatorium "Jubileiny" from September 21 to 28. Gurudev will arrive to Odessa on September 21st and will leave on September 28th. As usual many prominent preachers, sannyasis and senior didis will be present to bless us with wonderful Hari-katha. This time we will try to make all the arrangements to provide a simultaneous translation through the earphones for those who don't understand English. Thus all the English speaking devotees will be able to hear Hari-katha without interruption and the time of Hari-katha will increase twice. Odessa is a world-famous vacation place, situated on the shore of the Black Sea very close to Romania, which makes it very accessible to those living in Europe.
TRAVEL
Odessa has an international airport. If you travel from Europe you can take a bus to one of the cities of Romania on the shore of a Black Sea and from there you can take a boat to Odessa. It will probably be much cheaper than flying there. From Odessa to Iliichovsk by any bus number -50, 60, 70, 80, 81 and further to the sanatorium by minibus taxi number - 4.
ACCOMMODATIONS
This year living conditions will be much more comfortable. The facility is a brand new sanatorium situated right on the bank of the Black Sea. It has an outlet to the sea with a clean beach and watersport centre where you can hire a boat or a catamaran(water bicycle). Of course, we are organising this festival not for our own enjoyment but for Hari, Guru and Vaisnava-seva., but those who are tired of urban life can have a nice rest at the same time.
The weather usually is warm in Odessa in September, and you can swim in the sea.
There are rooms of different levels. Festival fees for the festival are as follows (All prices are Per Person, US Dollars, prasadam & accommodation included.):
1) Two-bedroom deluxe rooms for three people. All furniture (beds, chairs, table, wardrobe, bedside tables),fridge, TV, shower, conditioner and a special comfort ($174).
2) Detached house with semi-deluxe rooms. All furniture, fridge, TV, shower. Rooms for two ($152.60), rooms for three ($147).
3) A block of flats with semi-deluxe double-rooms, rooms. All furniture, fridge, TV & shower ($134).
4) Detached houses with double-rooms, 128 rooms. All furniture. WC & washbasin in each room. Shower cabins are opposite to the rooms.Two balconies ($115).
5) Detached houses with rooms for four. All furniture, WC & washbasin in each room. Shower cabins are inside the houses. ($119)
6) Cottages of upper area, All furniture, WC& washbasins are in the corridor. Shower cabins are next to houses (outside). Rooms for two ($118),three ($117), four ($111)
7) Cottages on the seashore. All furniture. Shower cabins are next to houses (outside). Rooms for three or four $(109.40).
The administration of a sanatorium has informed us that no tents are allowed on the sanatorium territory. So if you don't want to pay for a room in sanatorium you may rent apartments outside.
DISCOUNTS
There is a $5 per person discount for registrations received before September 1, 2002.
There is a 10 % discount for children age ten and younger.
All prasadam will be cooked according to rules and regulations of caturmasya vrata.
VISAS
We are working on creating a channel through which we can provide invitations for anybody who wants to come. We will inform you when everything is ready. Otherwise, if you want it sooner and ready to pay a bit more, any travel agent can easily arrange an invitation and even get you a Ukrainian tourist visa.

The more money you send at one time, the less remittance payment is. It means that it is more advantageous for all devotees of the same town to send money in one remittance. After sending money you should send me an e mail anantakrsna@gaudiya.net informing me when and what amount was sent from whom and what kind of room you wish to book. In the subject line you should write "Festival fee". You should also keep a receipt from the bank and bring it with you to a festival. Those who by some reason will be unable to send money can pay the festival fee in the sanatorium at registration desk, however we can't promise that you get the exact room you want if it will be already occupied by somebody else. Sanatorium administration demands pre-payment from us so please don't delay with remittance.
Our experience is that while organising the festival we are facing unexpected obstacles and as a sequence -extra expenses. So we humbly requesting all potential sponsors for voluntary donations. All of the money will be spent for Guru and Vaisnava-seva. Please inform all our godbrothers and godsisters and anybody else who wants to hear Hari-katha of our beloved Gurudeva and Vaishnavas about the festival.
