Ratha-Yatra Festival Berlin/Germany 2002

GERMANY, Jul 29 (VNN) — Sri sri guru gauranga jayatau! We have rented a hall in Berlin City for Harikatha and prasadam-seva. There the morning and evening programs incl. Bhajans, classes, arati and prasadam-seva, will take place . The morning program starts at about 5:30 AM and the devotees will stay at the hall until after lunch-prasadam. After that devotees will go out on Nagar-Sankirtan to announce the Ratha Festival or go back to their quarters. At 4.30 PM everybody will meet again at the festival hall for the evening program which will end around 9 PM. In that way we will have one beautiful week of Harikatha and Vaisnava Sanga from Monday the 29th of July until Sunday the 4th of August. All the Preachers will arrive before Monday evening. There will be a morning (lecture by Sriman Sarvabhavana Das) and evening program on that day.

Accomodations
There are many devotees in town who are eager to host guests according to their room-capacity.
We also have a few empty flats that can be used for groups of devotees either male or female.
The hall can be used as well but the owners are charging 10 Euro per person per night (expensive!) .
We request you to call us or send an e-mail and tell us what your individual needs are and with how many devotees you are coming (kids, husband, wife, friends, and so on).
We will organize your comfortable stay in any accomodation that fits your desires. (There are grhastas with children, without children, singles, couples, juniors, seniors...).
So please call us as early as possible. If you want to stay in a hotel, please call this phone number of the cheapest hotel that is near by the festival hall:

On Saturday the 27th of July (that is two days before the festival starts), please call again just to reconfirm that you are definitely coming. After your arrival in Berlin the first address to go is:

There we have a preaching centre that will serve as reception to welcome you. There you will get prasadam, city and subway-maps, keys to your accomodation, or your host will pick you up from there.
There are three airports.
1. The nearest to the preaching centre is Berlin/Tempelhof (City Airport): You have to go 2 stations with the tube U6 from Platz der Luftbruecke (tube station outside the airport) in direction: Alt-Mariendorf. Now you are at the train station: Tempelhof. From there you have to take the S41 or S42 Ring direction east till Hermannstra§e (only one station from Tempelhof.) At the train station, please ask anybody how to come to Emserstra§e. Most people will speak English. From there you have only a five minutes walk to the ashrama.
2. How to come from Berlin/Tegel to the preaching centre: Outside the airport you have to take the bus X9 to Jungfernheide Trainstation( that's not far from the airport it is a local trains station of S 41 and S42 Ring). From there you take a train in south direction directly to Hermannstra§e. From their ask people how to come to Emserstra§e.
You will have to walk 5 min to the preachingcentre.
3. How to come from Berlin/Schšnefeld to the preaching centre: You have to take the S9 and go with that train to Schšneweide. Their you have to change the train. Take the S46 direction Gesundbrunnen to Hermannstra§e. If the devotee that invites you to stay at his house has a car, we will beg him to pick you up from the airport.
The Ratha-yatra Festival
The procession will take place on Saturday the 3rd of August.
We will have B.V. Bhaktisar Maharaja, B.V. Asrama Maharaja, B.V. Aranya Maharaja, Srimati Jadurani dasi and many disciples from Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada as our special guests.
All devotees will meet at Breitscheidplatz at the Kaiser-Wilhelm GedŠchniskirche at 9.00 am in the Berlin City centre were we will gather for hari-katha and from were we will start our Car-procession at 10.00 AM.
After the Festival on the streets in the afternoon we go back to the festival hall to engage in Jagannatha mahaprasadam-seva. In the evening around 7 PM will be more bhajans and hari-katha.
Only Saturday is an exceptional day. On Sunday the 4th of August the schedule will be the same as the other days. We advise you to organize your arrival in Berlin for Monday morning the 29th of July and your departure on Monday morning the 5th of August.
You are always welcome to come earlier or stay later but from Monday to Monday only we can definitely give you a place to stay overnight.
Vienna
The devotees of Srila Bhakti Vaibhava Puri Maharaja's Radha-Govinda Temple in Vienna/Austria invited Sripad Bhaktisar Maharaja and Sripad Aranya Maharaja to stay in Vienna and they will do so from Monday evening the 5th of August until Wednesday morning the 7th of August.
