'My Sweet Lord' To Be Released
FROM YAHOO NEWS
ENGLAND, Dec 9 (VNN) Harrison song to be released for charity
Record chiefs are to re-release George Harrison's 'My Sweet Lord' as a tribute to the late Beatle.
A record industry source says the song is expected to be rushed into shops following the death of the Liverpudlian music star a week ago, although no date has been set for its release.
The song became the first solo No.1 hit for any of the former Beatles when it originally topped the charts in January 1971.
It was one of the most successful releases of Harrison's career, taken from his successful album 'All Things Must Pass'.
The deeply-spiritual Harrison was a follower of the Hare Krishna faith, even including a section of their mantra on the track.
A source at EMI records, which handles releases on the Beatles Apple label, confirmed that the track would be re-issued.
However, further details of tracklisting and even the charity that will benefit from the single have yet to be announced.
Harrison was taken to court for copyright infringement for the song because of similarities to The Chiffons' track 'He's So Fine'.
