EDITORIAL October 12, 1999 VNN4919 Related VNN Stories Re: Harrasement Of Ritvik Devotees In Pune BY RADHESHYAM DAS EDITORIAL, Oct 12 (VNN) — (see also VNN Story 4793) Dear Prabhu and Matajis, PAMHO. AGTSP. I recently got a copy of the letter by H. G. Sri Krishna Chaitanya Das (Kershi Mehta) and being the current President of ISKCON Pune, I consider it my duty to clarify some of the points made by him in his letter. Mr. Kershi Mehta is only blaming the GBC removing His Grace Krishnanam Das from presidentship, but he is not telling the other part of the story (ardha kukuta nyaya-which Srila Prabhupada always condemned). I have to present few harsh realities about Krishnanam Prabhu, due to which he was removed from his presidentship. 1. He has not been performing his morning sadhana of attending Mangala arati and chanting 16 rounds of Hare Krishna mantra every day since many days. 2. He has been focussing all his attention only in expanding his followers who came to take ayurvedic medicine from him. 3. He has been entertaining young unmarried girls to work all day long with him in his room and has been maintaining dubious relations with them. In fact, he admitted to H. H. Giriraja Swami that he went in the back seat in a bike with a young girl without any shame (although he is a saffron Brahamachari in ISKCON) 4. He has been increasing followers who do not follow the ISKCON regulations of chanting 16 rounds of Hare Krishna everyday. They have been allowed to drink coffee and tea. He has given intiation to many such people. 5. I am living in Pune temple now and I am practally seeing with my own eyes everyday the same aforesaid things happening. I can only see him as a " Ayurvedic doctor wearing safron dress". The saffron dress is only a garb for him to earn reputation among general people and attract the innocent girls visiting him for treatment. Whats wrong if GBC throws off such a characterless person from the post of ISKCON President? Indeed GBC has done its duty. Because he was thrown off the post, he started stimulating his followers to damage the name of the GBC and cause harm to reputation of the temple. The GBC requested him to vacate the tmple due to his obnoxious behaviour and he objected to do so with the support of the physical strength of followers who are sentimentally motivated and have no spiritual substance. I am sorry to say that the letter of Mr. Mehta contains many nicely cooked stories to blasphame the GBCs for no reason. If you at all have any doubts in this fact, you are most welcome to Pune temple. We have 29 brahmacharis, 300 engineering students in ISKCON YOUTH FORUM (IYF), 200 children in Bhakta Prahlada School (BPS) and more than 600 devotees in congregation . The temple is functioning only under the able guidance of H. H. Gopal Krishna Maharaj and H. H. Radhanath Swami Maharaj. The old deity of Prabhupada was Indian made due to which there were cracks and was kept in the loft above the life member guest house in a clean place. We later got a deity of Srila Prabhupada fom Lochan Prahu, America which is now currently installed in the temple. It is a great offence against GBC to say that they have no respect fo Srila Prabhupada. You may ask any of 29 brahmacharis and 300 students of the temple about how our love for Prabhupada was nurtured and developed by our holy association with H. H. Gopal Krishna Maharaj and H. H. Radhanath Swami Maharaj. Today Krishnanam prabhu stays in two rooms of the temple and we temple devotees have nothing to interefre in his activities. I can assure that we never made any attempts to break his room lock. In fact, our devotees are afraid to even aproach the vicinity of his room because every now and then, there is giggling of youg girls visiting that Ayurvedic doctor. We have more evidance from his earlier car driver how this Krishnanam 'Maharaj' (who of course may be famous for his Bhagvat Saptahas) used to get oil message on his chest from young unmarried girls! Now the abominable behaviour of Krishna nam Prabhu is a open reality to Pune devotees. Why are his supporters not visiting the temple? Because they have been coming to temple for various material motives, medicines, and business talks which have no connection to the real goal of life - Krishnha Consciousness. Now that the temple is surcharged with spiritual vibration, they find no meaning in visiting the temple. The other innocent supporter of Krishnam Prabhu have started understanding the essance of Krishna Consciouness and so they appreciate the temple and temple devotees. Mr. Mehta says we harass the life members who supports H. G. Krishnnam prabhu. As said above, their lower interests are not entertained in the temple permises and they find our loud glorification of Lord's names as harrassement in their sense gratification. What can we do? I feel very sorry for uninformed Mr. Mehta, who is using words like THROW AWAY, GARBAGE etc. in order to somehow or other, derive the sympathy of the reader whereas the reality is altogether different. I think, probably, he has to cook such stories to keep all the ritviks sufficiently alive followers of a baseless deviant philosphy. I again request the reader to make a judgement of the temple on his own by visiting ISKCON Pune yourself. All of here are greately enlivened and enthused by the regular holy association of H. H. Gopal Krishna Maharaj, H. H. Radhanath Maharaj, H. H. Lokanath Maharaj, H. H. Giriraja Maharaja etc. In fact the temple is spiritually flourishing only under their auspicious guidance and blessings.
