Who's Out Of Line?

BY RADHA KRISHNA DAS

EDITORIAL, Dec 22 (VNN) — As other Prabhus pointed out, temples in US and Europe are running on empty. Devotees flock to other camps by droves. We just saw a Com entry of "Kill a ritvik" which makes the KKK look like a fairy tale. Such hatred from "Vaisnavas" is unprecedented, demoniac, sub-mleccha. Another post shows big leaders in Detroit saying nonsense and laughing at reformers like they are fools. Devotees are not amused by these serious offenses. This guru issue is very serious and not to be treated like a game or butt of jokes for someone's amusement. They think reformers are out of line, but who is actually out of line?

In the midst of all this folly, many sincere disciples still try to carry the shining torch of knowledge of Srila Prabhupada's words and final instructions, but by some great misfortune, Iskcon tries to dowse the torch in a sea of ignorance, and treat its true friends in very unsavory, very un-Vaisnava ways.

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta had a visionary trance-like revelation, in which the Panca Tattva and great acaryas appeared to him and told him not to worry, everything would come, men and laxsmi and everything by his strong preaching, and Srila Prabhupada's efforts fulfilled that promise. But now it seems as if the power is slowly being withdrawn. Why?

Srila Prabhupada gave us ample reason to believe that it was very possible that his disciples were capable of hindering his movement by gross disobedience of his orders. He gave us so many examples of what happened in the Gaudiya Math and he gave us many warnings not to make the same mistakes. Yet, as we see by results, it is wholly possible that we did indeed, make the same mistakes. Yet when others try to illuminate these things, the unfortunate reaction has been witch hunting and paranoia and blind denial and rejection of the obvious truth.

The reform party is actually ISKCON's savior, yet they think "devils." This is because reformers point the unpalatable truth, they point out the disobedience of Srila Prabhupada's final orders, which can be clearly presented as solid proof in any court of law. Yet Iskcon people misconstrue this humble attempt as tantamount to Salem witchery of medieval times, and they react in a medieval way.

Fool some for awhile, but in this information age, what hope is there for a sustained distortion of the real facts of the issue? Namely the actual outcome of the whole debate, on paper, of how refutation was never given to the clear facts of the final order. How medieval tactics are resorted to, when honest debate failed. Will not historians give clear record of all this?

Reform devotees are the real hope of Iskcon, yet leaders are deliriously thinking "devils." Its often seen that a drowning man will fight the very person who is saving him from watery death. A dying and sick man will often see imaginary enemies in his delirium, who are actually his friends. So it seems with Iskcon. We hope the deadly fever breaks.

Who is actually out of line? Who continues cover-up of fallen gurus, trying to fool us with "fallen guru" heresy? This is nowhere in Srila Prabhupada's books, nor his instructions, nor his orders (which, incidentally, are all equally valid.) Who continually ignores the direct orders of Srila Prabhupada of May 28 and July 9th, making great guru aparadha by calling it heresy?, and thus jeopardizing the whole future of Iskcon only for the sake of their own personal attachments? Latest claim is that the letter of July 9th was not written by Srila Prabhupada, excuse us, what fools do you take us for? Do you really seriously believe this laughable absurdity? And how long do you think you can get away with this tomfoolery? Only the less intelligent will fall for this nonsense, and eventually even they will think it through, at which point your credibility will be finished for ever. Its time to get real and stop the absurdities. The list goes on, as such false leaders point a finger at others, yet the other four point back to them.

Such is the case with the unfortunate "blacklist" trend, which begs for disaster. Several Prabhus have already pointed out the futility and great danger of this mentality. It is all very unfortunate. I echo their fears and astute observations and plead with leaders and devotees to have a change of heart, and try to be honest Vaisnavas, and let us all cooperate for Srila Prabhupada's movement. It is his, not ours, and therefore we must do it his way. That is all.

Begging to remain,
your simple servant.
