EDITORIAL, Dec 10 (VNN) An old political tactic, used when an administration becomes too corrupt and the state begins to fall apart, is to start a war. This diverts the attention of the populace to an outside enemy. The real problem (the inept administration) is forgotten, and the corrupt stay in power at the cost of the blood of the people.
The west coast leaders have adopted a similar tactic (see VNN story "N.A. Leaders Propose Blacklisting Ritviks"). The state is in chaos; Temples across the USA are practically empty. Atlanta's buildings have been condemned by the city. Russia is a mess; Germany and the rest of Europe are practically empty. Harikesa and his cash have dried up and he has moved to the Riviera. The leaders have no idea how to save the situation, what to speak of how to return ISKCON to the thriving movement that Srila Prabhupada left us with.
To divert everyone's attention from this mess, they have started an anti- ritvik war. They'll try to convince you that the enemy is the ritvik, and he must be purged to save us. But the GBC is not just the ultimate managing authority when they want to kick your butt out of the movement you gave your heart, soul, money and energy to --they are also ultimately responsible for letting everything deteriorate to the present deplorable state.
Everyone's help is needed to put the pieces back together. To declare war against our own Godbrothers and Godsisters may seem politically expedient, but it is ultimately a foolish proposal that will corrode ISKCON all the more.
