Are You Being Cheated?

EDITORIAL, Jan 3 (VNN) — Hari Bolo Prabhus! Please accept my obeisances. All glories to Sri Guru & Sri Gauranga.

On October 18, 2003 the city of Ojai, Ca. had their annual "Ojai Valley Days" Street fair, and the American Vedic Association was there to awaken the sleeping conditioned souls with the torchlight of knowledge.

For this event AVA built two large freestanding display exhibits which utilized full color graphics to help the local residents of this very "New Age" town better understand what the whole purpose of Yoga is. The exhibit included illustrations of each of the four different Yoga processes outlined in the Bhagavad Gita and colorful visuals to help people understand the Three different Aspects of the Absolute truth.

But one of the most provocative exhibits that captured the attention of those who patronized the AVA booth was the exhibit called: "Are You Being Cheated?" This display was made specifically for the residents of Ojai where "New Age" gurus are in the business of holding "Sat-Sanga" seminars on a regular basis for the purpose of spewing impersonalism, voidism, and a nialistic understanding of life. After seeing how successful this exhibit was in piercing some of the nonsense that is taught in the name of "Self Realization", I decided that it would be nice to convert it to a format where more people could avail it's contents. So I reasembled it as a 23 Slide PowerPoint Presentation. That slide show is now available and I invite anyone who would like to use it to either download it from VNN, or they can write me and I will send it to them directly.

Voidism and impersonalism is the most insidious peril that we must face and in Kali Yuga it is rampart worldwide. Readers of "Are You Being Cheated" will notice that on the bottom of five of the slides is a web address which points to an article that I published in the Ojai Valley News with supplemental information about that particular way people get cheated.

These articles address just a few of the many bogus ideas that are currently being taught in the name of religion. I encourage devotees who encounter these allurements to track the web link back to the newspaper where they can gain the benefit of the full article and download it if they wish to do so.
