EDITORIAL  Prabhupada's Pranama BY GOPAKUMAR DAS  EDITORIAL, May 15 (VNN) — His divine grace Bhakti Raksaka Sridhara Maharaja had a very intimate relationship with Srila Prabhupada for many years. They lived together at Srila Prabhupada's home for six years during which time they simultaneously wrote their commentaries of the Gita. When Srila Sridhara Maharaja was told of Srila Prabhupada's one critique of him Sridhara Maharaja responded, "Swami Maharaja,...such a good friend. He did not even spare me in his criticism. We were very close." Once when Srila Prabhupada came away from a private conversation with Srila Sridhara Maharaja the devotees asked, "What did you speak about." Srila Prabhupada responded, "He has very deep realizations... if I told you, you would faint." Srila Sridhara Maharaja wrote a beautiful and detailed pranama mantra for Srila Prabhupada following his departure. It is chanted in many Gaudiya missions today and best expresses the nature of Srila Prabhupada's grand service. namah om visnupadaya krsna-presthaya bhutale swami sri bhaktivedanta prabhupadaya te namah gurvajnam sirasi-dharyam saktyavesa sva-rupine hare-krsneti mantrena pascatya-pracya-tarine visvacarya prabaryaya divya karunya murtaye sri bhagavata-madhurya-gita-jnana-pradayine gaura-sri-rupa-siddhanta-sarasvati nisevine radha-krsna-padambhoja-bhrngaya gurave namah I offer my humble obeisances unto His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who is very dear to Lord Krsna on this earth, having taken shelter at His lotus feet. Taking the order of his guru on his head, he became empowered by Nityananda Prabhu to act as a saktavesa avatara. He distributed the Hare Krsna mantra all over the Eastern and Western world, delivering and uplifting all fallen souls. He is the best of millions of jagad-gurus, because he is the personification of divine mercy. He has distributed the sweet nectar of Srimad Bhagavatam and the transcendental knowledge of Bhagavad-gita all over the world. He is constantly engaged in the exclusive devotional service to Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur, Srila Rupa Goswami, and Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu. I offer my humble obeisances unto Srila Prabhupada, who is like a bumblebee always tasting the nectar of the lotus feet of Sri Sri Radha and Govinda.
