We need to sell our large 2-story home in Alachua, Florida, for financial reasons. We have happily lived and raised a family here for many years. The home is perfect for children and animals, because it is very safe, spacious, and private. It is located within walking distance (or a short drive) to the popular New Raman Reti Temple, and it's an easy drive to the town of Alachua, the city of Gainesville, and Interstate 75. There are many devotee families nearby. The Alachua and Gainesville areas feature many devotee-populated public and private schools and colleges. The house is wood with a brick exterior, and looks quite stately with pillars and a long brick walkway. It is about 4,700 square feet, with 5 large bedrooms, 4 1/2 baths, living room, family room, and temple room. Because of its large size, the house is ideal for hosting programs, parties, and family reunions. There is a 2-car attached garage, large kitchen with 2 ovens and ceramic tile floor, and solid cherry cabinets. There is a pantry or canning kitchen (or pujari room) with a sink. There is a laundry room. The house has wood floors throughout, and electric heating and AC. There is a 2nd-story veranda on the back of the house, with a brick patio below. There is a well and large septic tank. The house faces East, is situated on a hill, is graced by large oaks, pines, magnolias, and other beautiful trees, and gardenia, holly, hawthorne, and azalea bushes. It is completely surrounded by 20 acres of mostly-cleared land, with a small amount of forest at the back of the property. Birds and squirrels reside outside, and deer can often be spotted in the distance. The human neighbors, whom we rarely see, are professional people. The home is very well-built (it was hardly affected by Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne), and is basically in good condition. The long driveway is partially paved. . The house will need TLC; it needs to be painted inside, and some outside, and will require minor repairs. It is a large place to keep clean, maintained, and landscaped, but if you are able to hire helpers, there are many devotees and nondevotees in the area who offer these services. Our asking price is $725,000. It's a lot of money, but it's a lot of house, in a great location! We may be willing to negotiate the price some, especially considering that the house needs paint and repairs. A man who raises cattle for slaughter has expressed interest in our home, but we would much rather keep this beloved place in the hands of Krsna's devotees!
